Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This is a list that I will definitely be referring back to

These books are in no particular order.

The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye by David Lagercrantz

The Constant Soldier by William Ryan

Another Woman’s Husband by Gill Paul

The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne

Beartown by Fredrik Backman

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

The One by John Marrs

The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham

Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Have you read any of these? Which books would you recommend I read first?

Let’s get social…

Thank you for visiting and happy reading!

  1. I’ve read three of those : Deep Down Dead, Beartown and Another Woman’s Husband. Loved all three of them. So I vote you start with Another Woman’s Husband, purely because I’m way too worried you won’t like Beartown 😂

    1. Oh no…most seem to love Beartown, but a few don’t. I’ve read a few of his other books and have really enjoyed them, so I’m hopeful.
I’m hoping to love Another Woman’s Husband and give some of Gill Paul’s other books a try.

  2. I can’t bring myself to read the David Lagercrantz sequels to the original Millennium series. I tried with the first one but couldn’t get through it. Maybe I’ll have to try again at some point but I hope you enjoy his second book in the series.

  3. You’ve got some great books ahead of you, namely Beartown. Dark Matter was amazing too and I really enjoyed reuniting with Lisbeth in Eye for an Eye. Also The One and ADSOM are both books I meant to read last year too. I’ve seen The Hearts Invisible Furies all over social media and it’s really making me want to read it!

  4. ADSOM is one of the books I’ve been wanting to read for years but still haven’t gotten around to it. They’ve been sitting in my cart on Book Depository for a really long time but I just haven’t made the plunge yet. I’ve heard really good things about Dark Matter.

I hope you enjoy all of these when you get to them!

    1. I haven’t read Another Woman’s Husband although I’ve read The Secret Wife and I liked it. It was only when I went to post my feedback on Netgalley that I realised I hadn’t got it from them – I had bought it! What a dumpling. Definitely a senior moment.

  5. If I can talk you into reading at least one of these books, I can’t recommend Dark Matter enough. It’s fantastic!! I just got my copy of The Heart’s Invisible Furies and can’t wait to read it!

  6. I haven’t read many of your choices (though they all sound lovely!), but I will 100% recommend reading A Darker Shade of Magic! The series is absolutely INCREDIBLE. :)) Lovely list, I hope you enjoy the books you end up reading this year! ❤
