Goodreads Synopsis:
Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace: he has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love.
Picture this: a dinner party at their perfect home, the conversation and wine flowing. They appear to be in their element while entertaining. And Grace’s friends are eager to reciprocate with lunch the following week. Grace wants to go, but knows she never will. Her friends call—so why doesn’t Grace ever answer the phone? And how can she cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim?
And why are there bars on one of the bedroom windows?
The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie?
My Opinion:
This is an addicting, creepy read!
The story opens with a dinner party, hosted by Jack and Grace, in their beautiful home. Their friends think they have the perfect marriage, but looks can be deceiving.
This book flip-flops between past and present. This format works beautifully for this story. He seems like the perfect guy, they have a beautiful house, and their marriage is one to aspire to. Oh boy – can looks be deceiving!
In my head I was begging Grace, GET OUT!! Red flag, red flag, listen to your gut! Sadly she didn’t listen to me.
It had many jaw-dropping moments that I had not seen coming. I cannot imagine what it would be like to discover the love of your life was not the person you fell in love with. What a nightmare!
On the bright side, I loved Grace’s sister Millie! She has Down’s syndrome and unfortunately her parents did not want her, but her sister Grace loves her dearly and has promised to always take care of her. Millie is one smart, clever girl and the love between these sisters is very touching.
I honestly did not expect to enjoy this mystery/thriller as much as I did. I consider myself a B.A. Paris fan and look forward to reading more of her books in the future!

Great review Tina. I enjoyed this book too. Its my favorite one by BA Paris. I still remember sweet Millie and one of the shocking lines that she said about George Clooney 😉

Enjoyed your review Tina. If I hadn’t read Bring Me Back I would be tempted to run out and get Behind Closed Doors based on your very positive review. But alas I did not like Bring Me Back at all, so I’m reluctant. 😔

I hear you! Bring Me Back is getting mixed reviews. I think the “majority” of those who have read her books enjoyed Behind Closed Doors the most. At lease that is what I am hearing.
