Happy Tuesday!
Today I am linking up with Vicki @ I’d Rather Be At The Beach who hosts a meme every Tuesday to share the First Chapter/First Paragraph or two of the book you are currently reading.
*Today I am sharing part of the opening scene of The Stand. This book is part of a 5 week readalong on Instagram, hosted by Janel@Keeper of Pages. I am 20% in and cannot wait to see where this story goes!

“Sally.”
A mutter.
“Wake up now, Sally”
A louder mutter: leeme lone.
He shook her harder.
“Wake up. You got to wake up!”
Charlie.
Charlie’s voice. Calling her. For how long?
Sally swam up out of sleep.
First she glanced at the clock on the night table and saw it was quarter past two in the morning. Charlie shouldn’t even be here; he should be on shift. Then she got her first good look at him and something leaped up inside her, some deadly intuition.
The Stand by Stephen King
Goodreads Synopsis
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death.
And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides or are chosen. A world in which good rides on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abigail and the worst nightmares of evil are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.
Does this entice you to want to read this book? What are you reading this week?
Ah, yes, an enticing read! But long…right? Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “WHISTLE IN THE DARK”

It is long haha! But broken up over 5 weeks makes it much more doable.
