Book Review – Finders Keepers by Stephen King #20booksofsummer #audiobookreview

My Opinion:

Another winner! Finders Keepers is book two in the Bill Hodges Trilogy and is every bit as good as the first!

Oh my, I’ve never seen a person go to such lengths for a book character! It is a testament to what books can bring to your life and you never know how they may touch your soul! That being said, let’s hope most people react in a much healthier fashion.

I went into this book not reading the synopsis, as I do quite often. The first half of the book has alternating timelines. One was told from the perspective of Morris (AKA the bad guy) and the other Pete (a teenager who will do anything to help his family).

This book wastes no time in kicking off the story with an intense robbery. I found it surprising and yet very creative the way Stephen King tied this book to the first in the series, in ways other than just repeat characters. Well done King! Speaking of repeat characters, I was thrilled to see Holly and Jerome! I adore the both of them and would have been disappointed if they had not made an appearance.

Just like book one, Mr. Mercedes, this book is narrated by Will Patton. He is every bit as brilliant narrating this one as he is the first! He brings the story to life, ramping up intensity and anger as if I were watching it on the big screen.

I am being as vague as possible here. This story really is best to go in cold. King is known for his horror and many shy away from this genre, but I can assure you that this trilogy is a straight up thriller and one not to be missed!

Onto book three!! I can hardly wait!
