Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
With 2019 coming to a close I was looking back at what I had read this year. I discovered that I had the pleasure of reading books by 42 new-to-me authors, so I thought it would be fun to highlight ten of them. You will notice that some of the authors have more than one book listed and that is because I enjoyed them so much I took the time to dive into their backlist a bit. After all, that is what reading is all about, discovering new authors for our reading pleasure!
In no particular order here are ten authors I had not previously read prior to 2019…
Peter Swanson
…
Alex Michaelides
…
Rea Frey
…
Taylor Jenkins Reid
…
T. Greenwood
…
M.W. Craven
…
Ruth Ware
…
Alex North
…
Katherine Center
…
Søren Sveistrup
What are some of your favorite authors that you discovered this year?
Let’s get social…
I discovered Peter Swanson and Alex Michaelides too, and wow! They’re brilliant! Katherine Center made my heart happy and M.W. Craven killed me haha!

Great choices, Taylor Jenkins Reid was a new find to me and like you I’m a massive fan. The Silent Patient is also in my top 10 books of the year.

Greenwood and Reid are new to me as well but all of these books are on my shelf, too! Lisa Jewell became a hit for me in 2019.

Lisa Jewell is on my short list to try. Hopefully next year! Do you have a favorite?

Excellent list! A lot of these would be on my list as well, including Alex Michaelides, M.W. Craven, Alex North and Katherine Center. Others, like Taylor Jenkins Reid, Peter Swanson and Ruth Ware have been on my favorites list since before 2019 already. xx

Great list! I also discovered a few of these authors this year and some of them, like TJR, have become a new favorite and auto-buy author 😍 I also really loved Things You Save in a Fire and need to read more Katherine Center! Awesome topic choice for this week’s freebie 🙂

This is always a fun topic, especially when you find an author that’s so good you just have to read some of their backlist too. (I bolted down 3 Catriona McPherson books in the span of a month this year.)
Funnily, those are the 2 Ruth Ware books I haven’t read, but I do like her others. I just got The Whisper Man from the library, so I’m excited he made your list. Finally, I just realized I haven’t actually read Taylor Jenkins Reid yet! I’ve read so much about her on these kinds of posts (and had multiple titles on my TBR for so long) that it FEELS like I I have…but no, still waiting.

Several of these are on my auto-read list now. I must read Alex North, I have read so many good things about him.
